Frankie Ballard’s Stage Catches Fire in South Dakota
Nevermind bus fires. Friday night (Aug. 24), while on stage in Mitchell, S.D. at the Corn Palace Festival opening for Thompson Square, Frankie Ballard had a stage fire when his drummer's monitor burst into flames.
"It had three-foot flames in the middle of a song," Ballard reveals to Taste of Country.
The singer and the fans who were at the show Friday all took to their Twitter pages following the set, not only to talk about his actual performance, but also the unexpected fire show.
"I knew @frankieballard was HOT but to start a fire onstage is taking it to a whole new level," one fan wrote. Another fan commented, "@FrankieBallard killed it! Could watch him all night ... #somuchfun #cornpalace," to which Ballard replied, "You see that monitor catch on fire?!"
Luckily, nobody was injured during the incident, which definitely left an impression on those in attendance! This weekend, Ballard continues on with a show in Du Quoin, Ill. on Saturday (Aug. 25). Visit his official website for a complete list of all his upcoming tour dates, but make sure to have those camera ready... You never know what will happen when you see Frankie Ballard in concert!
