Hank Williams, Jr. Offering Reward to Help Find His Grandfather’s Missing Shotgun
Hank Williams, Jr., has been searching high and low for a family heirloom, and he's offering fans a hefty reward if they can help him find it. Bocephus is offering a $6,000 reward for the return of his grandfather's shotgun, "no questions asked."
The country icon's attorney, Steven C. Smith, posted a notice from Williams to Facebook addressing "all my Cullman friends," explaining that the Remington Model 11/48 16-gauge shotgun with the serial number ending in 58111 has a great deal of sentimental value to him and his family.
"Growing up, I spent a lot of time in South Alabama with my Granddad Sheppard. Now I'm looking for his shotgun. I want to pass that old Remington down to my children and grandchildren," he explains.

Williams believes it's in the Cullman area, and "I'm willing to give the person who has it fifty $100 dollar bills, NO QUESTIONS ASKED, no chance of criminal prosecution," he adds.
Smith's Facebook post says Williams is offering an additional $1000 on top of that as a "finders fee." He reiterates that whoever comes forward will face no criminal liability.
"There is no suggestion that the shotgun was ever stolen and NO RISK of any follow-up after a successful recovery. It was probably lost when Hank moved from Cullman to Paris--possibly from his cabin on Smith Lake," Smith writes, adding, "If the finder would prefer a gun or guitar I'm sure that can be arranged with a proper certificate of authenticity."
