Country singer Janelle Arthur performed the Elvis Presley classic 'If I Can Dream' on 'American Idol' Tuesday night (March 5), earning raves from the judges after struggling last week.

The 22-year-old singer performed Lady Antebellum's 'Just a Kiss' last week, which the judges agreed was not one of her best performances. But they sent her through to this round, which is the first week fans at home have the chance to vote for their favorites.

Arthur sang the Elvis song in a somewhat muddled version that really didn't show her voice to its best advantage, seeming to have a problem projecting until the song modulated upward into a higher key midway. She finished stronger, but it didn't matter, as the judges universally praised her performance.

"I loved that," Keith Urban gushed. "I love that you have that really classic country voice."

Nicki Minaj agreed. "You are back," she said, proclaiming it the "best vocal of the night so far . . . I think the sky's the limit for you."

Randy Jackson said he'd love to hear Arthur record a throwback country album, while Mariah Carey said Arthur has an "America's sweetheart" quality, adding, "You did what you came to do."
