Jason Aldean Will Have Friends to Help Him Through When He Returns to Las Vegas
Jason Aldean is going back to Las Vegas for the ACM Awards. It's the second time he's gone since a gunman killed 58 people during his set last October, but this time, Aldean will get by with a little help from his friends.
"I'm excited for the awards show. I think it will be a little bit of a different experience for me this year going back," he tells Taste of Country. "If we're going to go back, I think the ACMs are the place to go back and be, because you're surrounded by all your friends and artists — you feel like you have a support system there."
The superstar previously visited victims of the Route 91 Festival attack, which left 800 people injured. He admits that going back to Sin City so soon after the shooting was "a little weird," but this time he'll return with some excitement. He chooses to remember the good times he's had in Sin City
"I've also have had a lot of great times in Vegas. Some of the biggest moments of my career came there," he recalls. "My first award I ever won was there. For what happened in October, I've also experienced a lot of really high points of my career out there, too, so I don't have all bad memories of Las Vegas."
Aldean was named Top New Male Vocalist at the 2005 ACM Awards. This year, the singer is nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. The 2018 ACM Awards air on April 15 at 8PM ET on CBS.
