Keith Urban and Julia Michaels have teamed to film a video for their new collaborative single, "Coming Home," and Taste of Country readers get to go behind the scenes of the video shoot.

Urban and Michaels shot the "Coming Home" video in Chatsworth, Calif., at the Cowboy Palace Saloon, which Urban says is "officially known as the last real honkytonk."

"It's really a super cool vibe," he says of the bar, which serves as the backdrop to a story conceptualized by director Andy Hines that blends more realistic elements with looser conceptual elements.

"I wanted to take the viewer and the listener on an audiovisual experience," Hines says. "We don't know if what we're looking at is a reality or a dream, or we just stepped through the door into another reality."

"Coming Home" is the latest single from Urban's current album, Graffiti U. Urban and Michaels wrote the song with J.R. Rotem and Nicolle Galyon, and Urban borrowed the opening guitar lick from the Merle Haggard classic "Mama Tried," giving the legend a posthumous songwriting credit.

He got permission from Haggard's wife and son before proceeding with the track.

"I called Theresa Haggard and Ben Haggard to play them what we’d been working on," he adds. "It was important to me to have their blessing — and I’m so grateful that they love the song."
