The 2012 CMT Music Awards are a great place to debut new material -- after all, there are thousands of country mega-fans in attendance, and thousands more sitting at home watching. That's what Kenny Chesney must have been thinking when he played his debut live performance of 'Come Over,' the second single off of his upcoming album 'Welcome to the Fishbowl.'

Chesney's performance strayed from previous performances at the awards show, most of which had elaborate props and setups. Chesney took to the microphone alone with his band behind him. There weren't many lighting tricks to add drama to the song, which is full of heartache in its own right.

The popular singer even resisted the temptation to wear a special outfit -- Chesney was clad in a black cowboy hat, a soft green shirt and jeans. The lyrics to 'Come Over' are so personal and heartfelt that Chesney didn't need to add any additional effects to the song, as his stellar voice and incredible band are all that was needed for a great performance.

In the background, the country star's steamy black and white video for the song played on a giant screen. In the clip, Chesney is steering a yacht through cityfront waters while memories of his relationship with his ex play in the background. The song and video are pretty personal -- but the live performance was intense.
