Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow Announce 2011 Summer Tour Dates

Country starlet Sheryl Crow will join hands with Kid Rock for his Born Free Tour this summer, the 'Collide' duo announced today. While the news is exciting, this won't be the first time that Rock and Crow have successfully teamed up -- their 2002 duet, 'Picture,' became a timeless hit, and their 2010 combo single, 'Collide,' currently calls the Top 20 music video charts home.

Now it's time to take it to the stage, and Rock admits that this tour has been a long time coming. "We've been talking about doing something like this for a long time," he tells Billboard. "You talk about things, and you never know if it's going to come to light, but we've always wanted to tour together."

Crow also chimes in to sing Rock's praises: "Any day, any hour of the day or night, if [Rock] calls me I'm totally there. I'm such a huge fan of his, and I love the guy," she says. "He's a great songwriter, and I feel like our collaboration together is always easy and it just ... works."

If we're lucky, the tour will result in a live album, Rock reveals. He and Crow "have been wanting to do a live record together, forever," he says. "If we do our hits -- 'Picture' and, if the clouds align and it becomes [a hit], 'Collide' -- and we do some fun covers we've been doing throughout the years and throw them on an album, that'll be fun for people to hear."

The Born Free Tour kicks off in the heat of the summer in Ohio and runs into September in Texas -- where it will feel like the heat of the summer.
