From a Georgia Cici's Pizza employee to an 'American Idol' runner-up, 16-year-old Lauren Alaina has made quite a transition in just a few months. She sat down on the set of 'Live With Regis and Kelly' this morning, where she dished on her old life compared to the 'Idol' experience -- oh, and her friend Scotty McCreery, of course.

Alaina had been hard at work trying to get her big singing break long before 'Idol,' and in fact, was turned down by 'America's Got Talent' twice. When asked whether she was able to sing for her Cici's customers, Alaina spilled, "My manager didn't exactly like that idea until he found out I was on 'American Idol,' and then he was like, 'Oh, well you can sing all you want!'"

Of course, the conversation soon turned to the 16-year-old Georgia girl's relationship with 17-year-old McCreery. She echoes what he said yesterday on the show: They're not dating. But then, why did she kiss him on the finale?

“Someone dared me to,” Lauren told Regis and Kelly about her surprising kiss with McCreery. But when asked who dared her, she went shy and simply replied, "I’m not saying."

Maybe she did want to kiss the oh-so-cute country boy from North Carolina, but she only did it because someone else made her. "Double dog dare, that's what it was," Alaina said abruptly. "You have to do it if you get double dog dared, it's just, like, the rules." She had to do it, as he wouldn't have kissed her, because in her words, "He's too shy."

The 'Idol' pair -- who tend to say that they're more like brother and sister, anyway -- will have another chance to bloom their budding, or not budding, romance this summer on the 2011 'American Idol' tour. "I have a feeling there's gonna be a lot of clothes laying in the floor," Alaina acknowledged of her summer vacation on a tour bus. "'Cause I'm riding in a bus with all the other girls!" she adds, in order to clear up any confusion. In short, she and Mr. McCreery will be on separate buses.

Alaina ended her appearance on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' with a live performance of her debut single, 'Like My Mother Does.'
