Luke Bryan, Cole Swindell to Play Georgia Benefit Concert for Tornado Relief
Luke Bryan and Cole Swindell have signed on to play a benefit concert for those in Georgia impacted by storms that killed at least 20 people this past weekend.
Fox News reports that Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has declared a state of emergency across wide portions of the state in the wake of the storms.
American Idol's Phillip Phillips and Nashville-based songwriter Dallas Davidson are among the other acts slated to participate in the upcoming benefit, which is in the planning stages. Both men are from the areas that were affected.
According to the Albany Herald, musician and businessman Bo Henry met with Davidson to discuss hosting a benefit concert for those affected in Southwest Georgia.

“This recovery effort is going to be here for the long haul,” Henry says. “So many people want to help, to volunteer, and that means so much to the victims of these storms. But we reached out in our devastation to the guys who can really raise money, enough to make a big difference in our region.”
The two men are still in talks about the timeline for the concert. Henry says it won't take place in the immediate future.
“It’s not going to happen in the next week or two, because Luke and Phillip are deeply involved in their careers,” he states. “But they wanted to help their community. When they were approached, they both said they were all-in.”
Both Bryan and Swindell shared their prayers with those affected by the tornadoes and storms over the weekend via their personal Twitter accounts.
"Praying for Albany and all of South Georgia. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones," Bryan wrote on Twitter.
"Please keep South Georgia in your thoughts and prayers. So sorry to hear about the weather, the damage, and lives lost. Love all of you!" Swindell shared.
