Former The Voice runner-up Meghan Linsey is collecting donations for her home state of Louisiana, parts of which were devastated by record rain and flooding over the weekend. The singer grew up in Ponchatoula, La.

"I have decided that I can't sit still any longer! I am getting a U-Haul and heading down to my hometown for a quick trip to drop off much needed items," Linsey writes on Facebook. "The people there are facing complete devastation. They've lost EVERYTHING. Houses, cars, pets. .. etc. The animal shelters are also overrun and begging for supplies."

Linsey is planning to leave Thursday (Aug. 18) to drive to Louisiana to drop off supplies, including basics like shoes, socks and underwear, as well as pet food. She is asking those in the Nashville area to donate items before 5PM at the below address:

Pennington Entertainment
Landers Plaza
2451 Atrium Way
Nashville, TN 37214

For those not in Nashville, Linsey has also created a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $100,000 for flood victims.

"As a Louisiana native and a hometown Ponchatoula girl, it is with a heavy heart that I am starting this GoFundMe page," she writes. "As you have probably seen on the news, southeast Louisiana was ravaged by, what they are calling the 500 year flood, over the weekend. Most families lost their entire homes, cars, EVERYTHING!"

Linsey adds that her plan is to make sure the money raised goes directly to victims and their families and back into the local community where she is from.

Taylor Swift also went above and behind for Louisiana, donating $1 million to assist those in need.
