Watch Mickey Guyton and Jimmie Allen Play ‘5 Second Rule’ on ‘Ellen’
Mickey Guyton always dreamed of being on the Ellen Show. In 2021, those dreams became a reality when she was the musical guest for an episode. But on Thursday (March 3), her dreams took her even further as she sat in as a guest host.
To make things extra countrified, her guests included fellow country artists Jimmie Allen and newcomer Priscilla Block.
Glass of wine in hand, Guyton challenged Allen to a few rounds of a fun game, called "5 Second Rule." In this game, contestants are given five seconds to name or act out three things in a given category.
The game started off innocently enough, with model poses and dance moves, but Guyton accidentally dropped a curse word when she struggled to name three of the most used words in country songs. Eventually, she blurted out "beer, truck, beer."
Allen didn't miss a beat with the same question, as he quickly listed "God, dog, wife." The two also had categories prompts like "things you do on a first date," "places you can sneak a nap" and "pickup lines." It appears all Allen needs to use is "I'm Jimmie Allen" for that last category.
Guyton also revealed the things she does while her baby is sleeping: "Sleep, drink, eat," she notes.
Finally, to close out the show, Block took the stage to perform her debut single "Just About Over You." She shared on Instagram that she used to watch Ellen every day with her mom, dreaming — just like Guyton — of being on that set one day.
Guyton recently sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl 56. She's also nominated for three Grammy Awards this year: Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song for "Remember Her Name," and Best Country Album for Remember Her Name.
Allen is currently on the road for his Down Home Tour through May 13. The trek is named after his next single, which he wrote for his late father. He will join Dolly Parton and Gabby Barrett as hosts of the ACM Awards on March 7. He is also nominated for Male Artist of the Year at the show.
Block, who was recently a guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show, is also nominated for a trophy at this year's ACM Awards, as she's up for New Female Artist of the Year. She will also be hosting a red carpet pre-show as a part of Amazon Prime's exclusive coverage of the event.
