Miranda Lambert's Airstream, Wanda the Wanderer, is famous in its own right, but the singer is having the beloved home away from home gutted and completely overhauled after too many years on the road.

HGTV's Junk Gypsies — sisters Amie and Jolie Sikes — first renovated the Airstream in 2010, and it's been on the road with Lambert ever since. The 1952 trailer is so beloved by her fans that its has its own social media accounts, but Lambert contacted them recently to help her out again. The video above, from HGTV's Facebook page, shows the damage that's been done over time as the vamped-up trailer has served as an after-show hangout for Lambert and her band, as well as media and other friends. The once-glamorous space is in serious need of a re-do, with very worn floors, edging coming away from its countertops and more.

"Number one, I'm sorry," Lambert tell Aime with a laugh. "And number two, bless her heart, she's been rode hard and put away wet." Lambert says she's placing her faith completely in them to re-design the space and "work their magic."

"I'm excited for the surprise," she tells the designer.

These Are the Miranda Lambert Moments We Will Never Forget

The first stage is the demo, and it's a little bit heartbreaking to see such a well-known and widely photographed vehicle torn back to the bare walls and floor. But from the looks of the items that Jolie Sikes is pulling from their local store, it's going to be just as cool as ever when they're finished — maybe even more so.

Stay tuned for future updates and to see what Wanda the Wanderer looks like when she returns to the road. Lambert is currently traveling on her Livin' Like Hippies Tour, which runs through March, and she'll also hit the road with Little Big Town for their joint Bandwagon Tour, which is slated to launch in July.
