Once again, country-star-in-the-making Scotty McCreery was voted on favorably by 'American Idol' viewers! McCreery -- who performed George Strait's 'I Cross My Heart' from the film 'Pure Country' on last night's movie-themed episode -- has never been close to elimination, and we're starting to think that the singer has a shot at winning the whole shebang.

Americans seems to love what the teen is doing, as he is sent back to his seat without having to worry about being voted off every single week! He must really like the elimination episodes since he sails through them, knowing he is moving on. Congrats to McCreery for advancing to Week 7, and we are thrilled to be able to hear his deliciously low voice again next week.

McCreery also opened tonight's episode, singing Lady Antebellum's 'American Honey' with fellow contestant (and sometimes country girl) Lauren Alaina, who was also safe from elimination.

Additionally, 'Spinal Tap' director Rob Reiner spoke to the cast, giving them advice on how music and movies are intertwined. McCreery did say he would like to do a little acting here and there in his future. We don't doubt that he could step onto the big screen with relative ease.
