Steven Tyler is just one win away from the Hall of Fame with his sophomore country single — but he's facing a very tough challenge from one of the hottest young artists in country music.

Tyler's new single is "Red, White & You," a slice of pure commercial country that's as as satisfying as a tall glass of water on a hot summer day. It splits the difference between modern country and the wink-nudge innuendo side of Aerosmith, and fans have been eating it up, giving Tyler an unbroken string of four wins so far.

Thomas Rhett is on a big winning streak at country radio, and he's looking to continue it with his new single, "T-Shirt," from the Tangled Up album.  The track explores the same kind of funky, soulful musical terrain that's the overall theme of the album, with a steamy lyric that's unabashedly almost too hot for country radio -- which is exactly why Rhett's fans are going to love it.

Listen to clips of both Tyler and Rhett’s songs and vote for your favorite here. You can vote once every hour until this Showdown ends on Friday at 8AM ET, so come back and vote often to be sure your artist wins. The winner of this matchup will face a new challenger on Friday.

Showdown Rules: The song with the most votes wins, and the winner goes on to face a new challenger in the next Showdown. Vote as much as once per hour online. If a song wins five Showdowns in a row, it will be retired into the Taste of Country Showdown Hall of Fame to allow for new songs to compete. Some songs will be considered for a second Showdown if voter turnout is healthy in a losing effort.
