Taylor Swift Granted Order of Protection Against Alleged Stalker
Taylor Swift has obtained an order of protection against a man she alleges has been stalking her for months.
According to a report from Page Six, 29-year-old Mohammed Jaffar repeatedly attempted to gain access to Swift's New York City residence. Jaffar first showed up at Swift's apartment building in Tribeca to ask for a face-to-face meeting with Swift in December of 2016, and when that failed, he allegedly returned four more times.
The report states that Jaffar showed up on the roof of Swift's apartment building on Feb. 6, staying from 10AM until 2PM and even directly accessing the hallway outside of the singer's penthouse apartment. In court papers, Swift also states that Jaffar returned two other times, ringing her buzzer for up to an hour straight. He also allegedly contacted Swift’s management company 59 times between Jan. 27 and Feb. 16 in an attempt to see her.
Jaffar was arrested on Monday (March 6) and charged with stalking and burglary. He is currently being held on a $20,000 bond. Judge David Frey also granted Swift an order of protection against Jaffar, barring him from having any contact with the superstar.
Swift is no stranger to stalkers. In November of 2016 a 39-year-old man named Frank Hoover was arrested after allegedly following her motorcade to the airport after a concert in Texas, as well as sending threatening emails, which violated a lifetime restraining order the singer had been granted against him. She's also experienced a number of other incidents with fans who have gone too far.
