Alan Jackson’s Second Grandchild Arrives! [See Pictures]

Alan Jackson is officially a grandfather to two grandsons!

His oldest daughter, Mattie Jackson, welcomed her first child into the world on Thursday June 20.

“One week ago my life was forever changed,” the new mom writes.

The new mom shared various photos of their little guy, including the first few moments of life as a family of three.

“Wesley Alan Smith joined our little family on June 20th, the absolute best birthday gift I could have ever imagined,” she shares. “There is no greater honor in life than being chosen by God to be your mom. And no sweeter joy than watching your daddy adore you and protect you already.”

It sounds like their furry family member Ryan took a minute to warm up to him, but now accepts her new brother.

Back in February, the country legend shared the baby news on social media. With a card that said grand baby number 2 and a pacifier, Jackson and his wife Denise smiled with pride.

“Blessings are overflowing in our growing family,” he writes. “Denise and I are thrilled for our second grandson to arrive in June! We’re so happy for proud parents Mattie Jackson and Connor Smith and can’t wait to meet the next addition to our family.”

Jackson’s daughter Ali had her son Jackson Bradshaw in December 2022.

Mattie first announced her pregnancy on Friday (Feb. 9.)

"I feel like I said so many times last year that 2023 topped the charts with more joy and celebration and and redemption than any yet. Well, I have a feeling 2024 may give it a run for [its] money," she shared at the time.

The 33-year-old married Conner Smith last May. Many fans of the singer may recall Mattie was originally married to Ben Selectman, who tragically died in a boating accident in 2018.

The Nashville native has been open about her journey since her husband's accidental death in 2018. Her book, Lemons on Friday, describes her journey and how she relied on her faith to help her through.
