Animated Christmas Movie ‘The Star’ Features Songs From Kelsea Ballerini, Jake Owen + More
Sony Pictures Animation’s animated motion picture celebrating the timeless Nativity story, The Star, will hit theaters Nov. 17, and it features new songs from several country favorites.
Country music fans will be delighted in the release of the soundtrack, which lands on Oct. 27 and offers up a charming blend of traditional Christmas favorites as well as some more modern compositions to get everyone in the holiday mood.
Country luminaries Kelsea Ballerini and Jake Owen make prominent appearances on the album, with Owen taking on the classic "What Child Is This" and Ballerini putting her hand to "Children Go Where I Send You."
Additionally, Jessie James Decker, who has just released her sophomore album, takes a turn at "Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song)."
The star-studded soundtrack also includes contributions from pop superstars Mariah Carey and Fifth Harmony, as well as gospel icons Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams. A cappella phenoms Pentatonix contribute a bonus track to the digital release of the album.
