‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Star Beth Chapman In a Medically-Induced Coma
Reality television star Beth Chapman is in intensive care and in a coma as she battles cancer. The Dog the Bounty Hunter star and wife to Duane "Dog" Chapman is at the Queen's Medical Center in Hawaii after having a breathing issue at home.
Hawaii News Now shared the news after receiving a statement from the Chapman family on Saturday (June 22). The 52-year-old was placed in a medically-induced coma and admitted to the ICU. Duane Chapman says he and his family "humbly ask everyone to please pray for Beth" and offer "sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers throughout Beth's battle with cancer."
Chapman first revealed her cancer diagnosis in 2017, but surgery cleared her within months. Last November she announced the cancer had returned. In May she shared that she was relying on faith to get her through.
“Chemotherapy is not my bag, people. Sorry, that’s not for me,” she said (quote via People). “So for me, this is the ultimate test of faith. This is my ultimate lesson. And it will either be taught to me or to you. And I am fine with taking the hit for everyone else. Because I think I know another guy who did the same thing.”

The news comes as the Chapmans are set to star in a new reality series called Dog's Most Wanted on WGN. The show is a new spinoff of their popular show Dog the Bounty Hunter, which aired on A&E from 2004-12. That show starred "Dog" chasing fugitives who've absconded after the Chapmans posted their bail.
Beth Chapman was his business partner for the Hawaii-based show, and throughout the series, several friends and family members appeared. A spin-off called Dog and Beth: On the Hunt aired on CMT for three seasons. In January, Us Weekly reported that production for the new WGN series was set to begin, and since then promotional videos and photos have revealed that Beth Chapman's cancer fight is at the center of it.
"My wife, the love of my life, is fighting for her life," Dog says in a trailer for the show. "Instead of being at home helping her, I’m out here looking for you. I’m warning you in advance. May God have mercy on you when I get you, because I won’t."
"You've been warned," Beth Chapman adds before a few dramatic clips. The start date for the new series has not been revealed.
The Chapmans have frequently walked red carpets at country music awards shows, especially when their series aired on CMT.
