Cam Spills How She Found Out About Her Grammy Nomination
Cam is nominated for Best Country Solo Performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards, but she didn't learn the good news in a traditional way, like from a formal letter or a visit to the Grammy website, she tells Taste of Country Nights.
The "Burning House" singer learned she's up for a Grammy because her phone wouldn't stop buzzing when the nominees were announced!
“Isn’t it funny that you find out because people just text you?” Cam tells us after being congratulated.
“I guess they all get up really early and check that site or something. I don’t even know. I haven’t been to the site so I just hope everyone’s correct,” she adds with a laugh.
Indeed, the singer's impressive vocal delivery on "Burning House" earned her a spot on the ballot. The song has done wonders for the newcomer's career — it's even her first Top 10 hit! However, it won't be Cam's first time to attend the Grammys.
She shares that someone got her tickets to the event roughly four or five years ago, but this year will obviously be much different, since she's nominated. Last time, she sat "way in the back. We watched and I remember being like, ‘That’s gonna be me one day,’ but like everybody sits there and says, ‘That’s gonna be me one day,’ so it’s kind of crazy that — that is going to be me in February."
The 2016 Grammy Awards show takes place at L.A.'s Staples Center on Feb. 15. Cam's new album, Untamed, is out Dec. 11, and she's also expected to get married in the coming year.
