Chris Young takes his family's advice with him wherever he goes -- so it makes perfect sense for him to let them star in the music video for his most recent single, 'Voices.'

His parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews all make cameo appearances in the video, where Young enjoys a day under the sun playing catch in the backyard, visiting the women in the kitchen and the kids on the back porch, as well as observing the men checking out the car engine.

So which one's his dad? According to GAC, the ol' man is one of the guys looking under the car hood. "I was glad to have him in there," Young remarks. “He went through lung cancer and chemo for that and everything and is doin’ really well now … It was a flip-of-a-coin kind of thing of whether he was gonna do really well or he’d still be sick and maybe not be able to be in my video."

His shy and humble mother, who always reminded him "to drop some cash in the offering plate on Sunday[s]," is ironically the only family member to appear in the video twice. Dot, his sister who enlisted in the Marines before the video was shot, is also included.

"There's a shot of me picking up a picture of Dot that I'm going to make sure gets in the final cut of the video," Chris proudly tells The Boot. "So she's still in the video. It was pretty cool."

Because Young's label decided to re-release the single, 'Voices' has now become his third Top 5 hit on the country charts. If it makes it to No. 1, Young will be the first artist to re-release a country single to reach the top of the charts since Randy Travis' 'On the Other Hand' 25 years ago!

Young is currently on the second leg of Rascal Flatts' Nothing Like This tour, and will be headlining the July 1 concert of Taste of Country's Greeley Stampede tour.
