In the new music video for “The Ones That Got Me Here," country star Cole Swindell goes back to his roots, reminiscing about all of those who encouraged him through the years to follow his dreams.

And in doing so, he reminds us all that we should all be doing the same thing.

The song—which was originally released last month and looks to be featured on his upcoming third studio album, being released later this year—has Swindell not just dwelling on the past, but also relishing it. The lyrics of the song pair perfectly with the concept video, in which Swindell is shown driving up in his old pickup truck, then walking around the grounds and up the bleachers at a high school football field.

The video prompts viewers to reminisce about their own stories—to think about all of those people in one’s life that propel us to follow our dreams and accomplish our goals.

The video also serves as yet another piece in Swindell’s career story, which includes the success of his current single “Break Up in the End." The song was leased back in February of this year and written by Jon Nite, Chase McGill and Jessie Jo Dillon.  Also this year, Swindell has released the track “Somebody’s Been Drinkin’.”

"This year, 2018 we'll have a brand-new album," Swindell told Taste of Country Nights earlier this year. "Probably summer; late summer sometime. We'll be releasing songs from here until the album comes out to get more music out there."
