Courtney Penry Auditions for ‘American Idol’ With Sugarland’s ‘Stay’

'American Idol' contestant Courtney Penry came off as kooky – calling Ryan Seacrest "the sexiest man alive" and crying upon being graced with his presence, blowing kisses to the judges and generally kissing their a--es and doing the chicken dance before singing. Her goofiness made her seem strange enough to be a wash. But her rendition of Sugarland's 'Stay,' while not perfect, was good enough to impress the judges at tonight's auditions.

Steven Tyler said Penry had star quality. And while she had a good voice but bad singing habits, according to the judges, her humor and sass garnered a "yes" from Tyler and Jennifer Lopez and she did a victory dance, since she is on her way to Hollywood.
