Backroad Anthem singer Craig Strickland was found dead on Monday (Jan. 4) after a week-long search. He and friend Chase Morland left to go hunting on Dec. 27 and never returned. Morland's body was recovered last Monday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers discovered 29-year-old Strickland's body in their original search area, just north of where the men's duck hunting boat capsized in Oklahoma's Kaw Lake. The singer's dog, Sam, survived the ordeal.

The country music community has been supportive throughout the search, and artists were quick to issue prayers and heartfelt messages upon learning the sad news of Strickland's death. Taste of Country also sends condolences to the families of Strickland and Morland as they mourn.
