Last month, Danny Gokey exclusively broke the news to Taste of Country that he was to make his acting debut in a made-for-tv movie, 'Truth Be Told.' It has now been set to air on FOX on Saturday, April 16 at 8PM ET. The movie premiere is one of 12 family-themed TV films produced by Wal-Mart and Proctor and Gamble set to air on Sunday nights.

'Truth Be Told,' is centered around Annie Morgan, played by former 'Full House' star Candace Cameron Bure. Morgan is a single marriage counselor who gets the chance to host her own talk show on relationships. To help her land the job, she enlists the help of an old college friend and recent widower, Mark Crane, played by David James Elliott. They pretend to be married, but as the lie and her conscience catches up with her, she must comes to grips with the feelings she has for her partner in crime.

While Gokey's cameo is unknown at this time, we do know the movie will feature some of his music and he will have a few speaking lines as well. Of his maiden acting experience, Gokey told Taste of Country, "It was awesome. I definitely would love to get into acting and stuff."

The country star says quarterback Kurt Warner also made an appearance in the movie. For more news on the project check back with Taste of Country or read the latest updates Gokey's Facebook page.

Gokey has just returned from Puerto Rico and the island of Culebra, and will now set his sights on opening for Taylor Swift on her 2011 Speak Now tour. He will play selected dates with her through July with the first being June 18 in Pittsburgh, Penn.
