Darius Rucker Shares New Song ‘Don’t’ Ahead of Album Release [Listen]
Darius Rucker is gearing up to drop his fifth studio album, When Was the Last Time, on Oct. 20. Ahead of the album's release the country crooner has shared a brand new track called "Don't."
Written by Adam Doleac, A.J. Babcock and Pete Good, "Don't" has Rucker sharing his love for a significant other in his familiar velvety voice. “‘Cause every single mornin’, my eyes fall open on you / It’s like my dreams keep goin’ on and on and on / It don’t matter what we’re doin’ as long as I’m with you, and / I can’t imagine anything I couldn’t love you through,” he sings in the chorus.
Throughout the song, he finds himself thinking about forever with his lucky lady. And, despite the bad days and mistakes, he promises to love her anyway.

Rucker's first single from the project, “If I Told You,” became his 8th No. 1 country hit. The album’s second single — a song Rucker wrote with Derek George and Travis Hill called “For the First Time" — is at radio now.
His forthcoming album was produced by Ross Copperman, and in an interview with Billboard, Rucker raves about working with him.
“On top of being a genius with the equipment, Ross is so high-energy and funny; that kid is never not laughing,” he says. “Every time we were in the studio we had a great band who had great ideas of their own, so it was the farthest thing from tedious, but just, let’s get in and do it. I think for the whole record we spent just three days tracking music.”
