David Fanning is releasing a lyric video for his new single, 'Doin' Country Right,' and Taste of Country fans are getting an exclusive first look.

The song features a very hip, contemporary vibe, with a nifty repeating echo vocal trick in the choruses that's irresistibly catchy. A hot guitar solo livens up the track as well for a feel that's an amalgam of country, rock and pop.

That's nothing new for Fanning, whose country cover of Justin Timberlake's 'Drink You Away' generated considerable buzz after the superstar tweeted in support of it. As an integral part of New Voice Entertainment -- a production team that includes the founding members of Jason Aldean's band -- the singer-songwriter is also a producer with three No. 1 hits to his credit; Thompson Square’s 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' and 'If I Didn’t Have You,' as well as Parmalee’s 'Carolina.'

He's also had songs cut by Scotty McCreery, Bonnie Tyler, Lindsay Ell and and Tracy Lawrence, but Fanning has recently returned more of his focus to his first love of performing, which is what brought him to Music City in the first place.

"I moved here when I was 20, and ‘Kiss Me or Not’ was No. 1 when I was 23. So I kind of stumbled into a good team, but there was a lot of work that went into it before that, too," he states.

"I definitely lived, ate and breathed all of this for my whole life. I didn’t really have a Plan B," he adds with a laugh. "If this didn’t work out, then I was in trouble."

Fanning is currently at work on his debut album for Red Bow Records.
