Devin Dawson took to Instagram to share the good news that his California Smoke Tour was a huge success—and all for a great cause.

The mini six-show tour took place up and down the coast of California in various cities. The shows benefited the California Fire Foundation, which provides both emotional and financial assistance to the families of fallen firefighters and the communities they protect.

Both firefighters and California are close to Dawson's heart, as he's a California native and his grandfather and uncle both served as firefighters for decades. His home state had been battered severely by fires in 2018, wiping out many communities and even celebrity homes in Southern California.

""One of the reasons I’m stoked about this tour is because, as a California native, it’s a place very close to my heart, so I always jump at the chance to be back there," Dawson noted when the tour was announced. "I don’t get to visit my family who still live there as often as I’d like, much less have an opportunity to play multiple shows throughout the state. The fact that all the proceeds from these shows will also go toward helping people affected by the California wildfires makes it that much more special to me."

Dawson's shows not only benefited the foundation; he also invited firefighters and victims of the fires to his show for a special experience.

As he wrote on his Instagram: "Can’t believe we raised $12,463.00 for the @cafirefound on the #CaliforniaSmokeTour ... Huge shoutout to the #DarkHorseFamily for coming out strong & coming together like that!! It was so dope to get the chance to host a lot of people affected by the fires, & just have a fun night to forget our troubles for a couple of hours. Thanks y’all so much for supporting my home state. Let’s do this again!!"

Dawson is also selling the t-shirt from his tour on his website, with proceeds going directly to the California Fire Foundation.

On other aspects of the work front, Dawson wrapped up his headlining tour and is now hitting up the summer music festival circuit through September.
