It's cold outside, but Dierks Bentley is busy preparing for his hot Somewhere on a Beach Tour. The singer has enlisted Cam and Randy Houser as his openers, and when he stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio, he had nothing but great things to say about them both.

Bentley has been full of good stuff for his fans lately. First it was a new single and a forthcoming record, and then he announced he's hitting the road in April. He couldn't hide his enthusiasm for the tour, and especially for his two pals that will take the stage before him.

“This is really going to be a good one," Bentley shares. "For us, we’ve got a new album coming out. Randy’s got a new album coming out. Cam’s album is out. That’s like when you bring out your new production and everything is exciting and new. It’s always fresh but this is like the beginning of a cycle for all of us, so individually that’s really important. Combined, you know you want to tour with people who you really respect and like and enjoy being around, especially when you’ve been doing it this long. I just want to spend my summers having fun and when I’m having fun, the crowd’s gonna have fun."

Judging by his love for Cam and Houser, it was a no-brainer to bring them on the road (even if he maybe regrets asking Houser to join him).

"I met Cam for the first time at her album release party. I went to it because I was intrigued about who she is and I love her first single. She’s so poised. She’s so funny. She’s so natural on stage ... I feel like I got really lucky getting her on the tour, she’s awesome," Bentley says. "I’m really honored to have her out there and Randy, I’ve said it before but he’s one of my favorite pure country singers. He does stuff with his voice that no one else can do ... He really kicks my butt and I get nervous ... I think, ‘Why did I bring Randy on this tour?' I should bring someone else out who makes it a little bit easier for me so I don’t get stressed out before I walk on stage."

Bentley's Somewhere on a Beach Tour hits a number of cities throughout the U.S., Canada and internationally. Full dates as they're updated are available on Bentley's website, where his album Black is also available for preorder. Tickets for elect dates from the 2016 Somewhere on a Beach Tour go on sale beginning on Jan. 29 as part of Live Nation’s Country Megaticket.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
