Country icon Eddie Rabbitt scored his first No. 1 hit in 1976, but our choice for No. 55 on the Top 100 Country Songs list didn't hit the country charts until 1980. When Rabbitt released 'Drivin' My Life Away,' the song propelled the singer into superstar status with its immense crossover success.

The song became the New York-native's seventh country chart-topper, and also earned Rabbitt his first Top 10 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart. 'Drivin' My Life Away' ushered in a string of pop hits for the country artist, including the No. 1 'I Love a Rainy Night.' Rabbitt was inducted into the Nashville Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 1998.
