Florida Georgia Line’s Inaugural FGL Fest Canceled Due to Weather
Florida Georgia Line's inaugural FGL Fest was canceled last minute due to severe weather.
FGL Fest was scheduled to take place on Saturday (Sept. 8) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Ind. According to a joint statement issued by the track and Live Nation, the event could not go forward because of the torrential rains that are sweeping the area.
“We deeply regret to announce that today’s FGL Fest at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been canceled,” the statement reads. “This decision was made after a comprehensive review of current and forecasted weather conditions, and with the safety of event attendees as our top priority.”
The announcement came just a few short hours before gates were to open and artists including FGL, Cole Swindell and Raelynn were to take the stage. Additional artists who were scheduled to perform at FGL Fest included Nelly, Jillian Jacqueline, Mason Ramsey, Stephanie Quayle and Riley Green.

The statement goes on to say that fans who had bought tickets for the much-anticipated event can obtain refunds at the point of sale vendors where they originally purchased their tickets.
Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley turned to Twitter to express their regrets after the cancellation was announced, writing, "We’re so bummed this happened today to FGL Fest. Unfortunately the weather wouldn’t permit us to play and we’d never want to put the fans in any danger. Love y’all, we’ll be back."
Florida Georgia Line announced plans for the first-ever FGL Fest earlier this summer, as it was to coincide with the running of the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Powered by Florida Georgia Line NASCAR race. Unfortunately, remnants of a recent tropical storm had caused multiple weather watches across the Indianapolis region, calling for up to six inches of additional rainfall over the weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the region.
"Hide the Wine" singer Carly Pearce still scheduled to sing the National Anthem at Sunday's race, which has since been postponed.
