Jamie Lynn Spears Comes to Sister Britney’s Defense Over Mental Health Rumors
Jamie Lynn Spears is speaking out as social media trolls attack her sister, pop star Britney Spears, who is currently at a facility dealing with her mental health. On Twitter, the younger Spears sister warns those criticizing her family to leave them alone.
In early April, PopCrush reports, Britney Spears checked herself into a mental health facility, reportedly to deal with the stress she was feeling because of her father Jamie's recent health struggles, which stem from a ruptured colon and surgery. At the start of 2019, Spears made the decision to cancel her Las Vegas residency in order to be with her dad and family as he heals.

However, some fans believe that Spears was forced to enter the mental health facility, rather than checking in of her own free will (she is under a conservatorship due to past struggles, documented by gossip outlets and the paparazzi in the mid-2000s). As a result, the Spears family is facing added public scrutiny, which lead Jamie Lynn Spears to speak up.
Early Tuesday morning (April 23), the younger Spears shared an old video of her standing by her sister's side and defending them both as paparazzi swarm around them. After someone in the crowd screams, "Nobody wants you in this neighborhood!" Spears yells back, "Well then move the f--k out!"
"Ten years ago, who was there?? I have been here long before anyone else, and I’ll be here long after," Spears writes. "I love my sister with everything I have. So, anyone or anything that speaks to the contrary can GTFOH with all the comments about what you don’t understand."
In a reply, Spears adds, "Don’t come for me or the ones I love anymore. You can move the 'blank' outta here with all that, just like this other lady who was running her mouth."
The Spears family — Jamie Lynn included — hasn't had an easy go in recent years: In addition to her father and sister's health struggles, Jamie Lynn Spears dealt with a serious ATV accident that almost killed her older daughter, Maddie, in 2017.
Maddie is the daughter of Spears and her ex-boyfriend, Casey Aldridge; Spears was pregnant with her at the age of 16, another public controversy. The singer and songwriter, is now married to Jamie Watson; the couple welcomed a daughter, Ivey, in 2018.
