Jason Aldean Visits ‘Today’ Show to Amp Up the Crowd, Talk About His Baby Boy
It may have been early in the morning, but that didn’t stop Jason Aldean from getting his usual party on at the Today show on Friday (Aug. 25).
The superstar took the outdoor stage for the show's 2017 concert series to play some of his biggest hits for the early risers, including “They Don’t Know,” “Lights Come On” and “Dirt Road Anthem.” The singer admits he didn’t know how it would go for him with the audience considering the early hour, but he was pleasantly surprised.
"It's hard to get people jacked up this early in the morning, but these people are great," he says. "This is awesome." After chatting a little about life on the road, Aldean opened up about what it’s going to be like when his baby boy arrives.
"We've got a little boy on the way at the end of the year," he explains. "It's actually the first boy on either side of family in quite a while. My sister has three girls; I have two; my wife's sister has two girls. So it's all girls, no boys. This is going to be the first one. We're excited!"

When Matt Lauer suggests teaching his son how to throw a slider, Aldean notes that if he’s a lefty, there will be a pitcher’s mound in his backyard before his son turns 2.
Aldean then launched into “They Don’t Know,” bringing his rock-infused country style to the plaza as fans sing along to every word. Check out the full performance of “They Don’t Know” above.
When he’s not raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for a children’s hospital in his hometown or prepping for the baby, Aldean is working on new music, which he says will be released soon. He updated fans with a behind-the-scenes video on Twitter from the studio. It was recently announced he will be headlining WE Fest alongside Florida Georgia Line in 2018.
