For the past few months, Jason Aldean has been performing hits on his My Kinda Party Tour accompanied by openers Luke Bryan and Lauren Alaina. And frequently, Aldean and Bryan have given concertgoers a treat by covering Tracy Lawrence's No. 1 hit, 'Time Marches On' together. On Thursday night (May 17) however, the country stars gave fans in Birmingham, Ala., a major surprise when Lawrence himself walked onstage to perform the song.

Lawrence -- an Arkansas native -- performed three songs on stage, playing with Aldean and Bryan for a total of 20 minutes. He followed 'Time Marches On' with this first No. 1 song, 'Sticks and Stones.' Of course, Lawrence closed his portion of the show with his 2003 hit 'Paint Me a Birmingham' -- a perfect tune for the crowd.

Aldean hinted a few months back during a show in Nashville that he was hoping to bring Lawrence on stage then. "We want to use this time to pay tribute to some of the singers that we grew up listening to and who influenced us," the 'Fly Over States' singer said. "I wanted to have Tracy Lawrence come out tonight but he was out of town."

Sad that Lawrence's appearance wasn't in the cards for Nashvillians, but folks who had tickets to last night's show in Alabama definitely lucked out. Tonight, Aldean and the gang head to Atlanta, Ga. to continue the tour. For a complete list of tour dates, click here.
