Jewel Released From Hospital, Recovering at Home After Car Accident
After Friday afternoon's automobile accident where Jewel's car was hit by an oncoming fire truck, the mother-to-be was released from the hospital and spent the weekend relaxing at her home in Stephenville, Texas.
"Hey everyone -- just got released from the ER & my Dr.'s office," the singer tweeted Friday upon arriving home, after the news of the accident broke. "Everything is fine -- me & the baby are OK -- thanks for all your thoughts & prayers."
After a good night's rest, Jewel took to her Twitter page again Saturday morning to touch base with her concerned fans:
"Dr. said no working out -- so I'm going to take it easy this weekend. Just a little sore and banged up -- but feeling so blessed this morning."
Jewel credits the vehicle on which she was driving for saving her life in the two-car accident.
"One thing I do know is my car saved my & baby's life -- definitely going to get another Cadillac SRX!" she said over the weekend. "It absorbed all the damage & kept me safe!"
Jewel and her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray, are expecting their first child, a son, this summer. While awaiting their arrival, Jewel has been hard at work in the studio working on a children's album inspired by her unborn son.
