Keith Urban Guests on Buddy Guy Album
Keith Urban may be a country music superstar, but sometimes, he just really enjoys singing the blues. He gets his chance to display his soulful side on blues great Buddy Guy's new album.
Urban is more than a little excited about this project. He previously hinted about the collaboration after seeing Guy perform at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, saying, "I love Buddy. He has an album coming out and he has a song he wants me to do, and I’m trying to figure out how to do that in the midst of all the other stuff.”
When Urban puts his mind to something, there's no stopping him, and he was able to make time in his schedule for this special guest appearance. On July 30, Guy will release a double album, 'Rhythm & Blues,' with a special appearance by the country crooner. 'One Day Away' features Urban, who truly shows that in music, he can do a 'Little Bit of Everything.'
Urban is in the company of a few great guests on the album, including Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, and upcoming blues artist Gary Clark Jr.
This actually marks the second time the bluesman and country star have collaborated, as they performed with the king of blues B.B. King and pop star John Mayer on the Grammy Awards in 2009.
Urban, who recently lit up the stage at the 2013 CMT Music Awards, is working on a forthcoming album, 'Fuse,' which is set to be released Sept. 10. He is currently on his Light the Fuse Tour, which hits the road in a little over a month with Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch.
