Kiefer Sutherland Goes Country
Kiefer Sutherland has gone country. The actor is readying the release of his debut country album, Down In A Hole, due out this summer.
Sutherland released the music video for his debut country single, "Not Enough Whiskey," on Monday. The song will be available on iTunes on April 1, and the video provides a preview of what's to come for the singer. The old-timey song features Sutherland's gruff vocals while he drowns his sorrows in whiskey as he sings of an ex who is long gone.
Sutherland, known for his roles on the Fox series 24, as well as films Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, Flatliners, A Few Good Men and A Time to Kill, among others, co-wrote every song on his upcoming 11-track album. In addition to the album release, he will embark on a tour starting April 14 in Milwaukee, Wis. The tour will run through the end of May.
"This record is the closest thing I’ve ever had to a journal or diary," he says in a press release. "All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music. As much as I have enjoyed the writing and recording process, I am experiencing great joy now being able to play these songs to a live audience, which was something I hadn’t counted on."
A complete track listing and release date will be announced in the coming weeks.
