Kip Moore Opens Up About Depression While Writing ‘Wild Ones’
Kip Moore struggled with depression while making his sophomore album Wild Ones —something he's talked about frequently during his concerts. The singer says he'll always be honest with fans and will never play a character onstage.
In an interview with ET Canada, the "Running for You" singer opens up further about his battle.
“I literally had a hard fight with depression while making this record. It was a tough time in my life. There were a lot of days where it was hard for me to get out of bed,” Moore tells ET.
The album was released last summer, and Moore reveals that he's "just now falling out of [it]."
Wild Ones is a special album to the country singer, but he admits it was a tough struggle to record it following the success of his debut Up All Night. The singer has already begun working on his next project and has seven songs completed. Fans should expect something completely different this time around.
“I want to always be that artist that's true to myself at that time in my life. I never want to be scared to take a risk,” he says. “I want to be true to myself and grow and evolve as an artist and push boundaries on this new one.”
