This Las Vegas Shooting Victim’s Cole Swindell Cover Is Going Viral
A video of a Las Vegas shooting victim singing Cole Swindell’s “You Should Be Here” has become a viral, albeit tragic, phenomenon; racking up thousands of views on Wednesday after it was shared by his family.
Brennan Stewart, 30, was one of the 58 people killed at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. The devoted country music fan's family has posted several videos of him playing his guitar and covering popular country songs.
His cover, posted Oct. 4, 2016, of “You Should Be Here” — a song Swindell says he wrote for his late father--has been shared as a tribute to Stewart.
Kelly Stewart, his sister-in-law, confirmed his death Tuesday morning, and his family released a statement to the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Stewart “rarely missed an opportunity to attend a country concert,” the statement said, adding some details about his generous nature.
"Brennan was the kind of guy who always put others before himself; including up to the moment he lost his life, Brennan shielded his girlfriend and helped others to safety."
Stewart was with his girlfriend watching Jason Aldean's set at the time of the shooting. He was separated from her in the chaos, she was swept away to safety.
