Martina McBride to Turn the Grand Ole Opry Pink

Country star Martina McBride will help the Grand Ole Opry celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month next month by headlining the third annual Opry Goes Pink show on Oct. 22. In addition to hosting a mostly female lineup, the Opry will turn its normally barn-brown backdrop and their website pink for a day.

Kellie Pickler, Lauren Alaina, Edens Edge and Ronnie Milsap are other artists scheduled to perform, and there will be separate activities to recognize breast cancer survivors. $5 from every ticket will go to Women Rock For the Cure. McBride will no doubt sing her current single 'I'm Gonna Love You Through It,' an inspirational song that pays tribute to women who've fought off the potentially deadly disease.

If you plan on being in Nashville that weekend, check out Opry.com for ticket information. Beginning Oct. 18, there will be an online pink auction with artist autographed items and a one-of-a-kind Opry experience. All proceeds from the auction will go to Women Rock For the Cure.

In other Martina McBride news, the country songstress is preparing for her tour with George Strait, which is scheduled to start some time in 2012. McBride is also gearing up for the release of her album 'Eleven,' which features her hit single 'Teenage Daughters.' 'Eleven' is slated for release on Oct. 11.
