The holidays are rapidly approaching, and now that Mickey Guyton is off the Crushin' It Tour with Brad Paisley, she's ready to celebrate. The talented singer visited our Taste of Country Nights studio this week about the festivities she has planned this holiday season, as well as what we can expect from her in 2016 (spoiler: it's new music!).

Guyton has had a big year, opening for Paisley and scoring her first country hit, so she's got a lot to be thankful for. The "Better Than You Left Me" singer will wind down with her family this Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“For Thanksgiving, my family all goes over to my grandma’s house ... and we start dinner at one o'clock. We eat all day long and then we take a nap and then we eat more and then we go to sleep," Guyton says.

“For Christmas we go to my parents house and we wake up early in the morning and drink some orange juice and then open presents," she adds, commenting that although she wouldn't mind a little vodka in her OJ, it's just the juice during family time.

Guyton will be giving fans a late Christmas gift — new music is to come in early 2016!

“We’re still working on it," she spills. "It’s going to be coming out though next year. I will be putting something out in January.”

For now, fans can pick up the singer's EP.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
