Reba McEntire Is a One-Woman Show in 2019 ACM Awards Promo [Watch]
Reba McEntire is set to host the 54th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, and a new promotional video shows off her many useful skills.
The video begins with a flashback to McEntire onstage at the 2018 ACM Awards, joking that the people behind the scenes finally figured out that it only takes one woman to do the job of two men (a funny jab at Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley and Bryan and Blake Shelton, previous ACM Awards hosting duos).
After the flashback, McEntire immediately jumps into action, working on every aspect of the show. McEntire grabs the cameras to film, delegates tasks on the radio and even edits the lighting in the humorous clip.
McEntire isn't a stranger to hosting the ACM Awards. In 1986 she hosted the show for the first time with Mac Davis and John Schneider, and she returned two years later in 1988, this time alongside Hank Williams Jr. In 1993 she co-hosted with Alabama singer Randy Owen and George Strait, and finally got the chance to host solo in 1999, after which McEntire began to host every year until 2010.
McEntire returned to co-host with Blake Shelton in 2011 and 2012, before she took a break for Bryan to join as Shelton's co-host. Last year McEntire took over the role once again, and she's back to host this year's ceremony.
The 2019 ACM Awards will take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 7. The ceremony will begin at 8PM ET.
McEntire recently announced that she will release a new album, Stronger Than the Truth, on April 5. She has released the album's title song as its first single.
