Joey + Rory’s Rory Feek says he’ll soon be heading home to Tennessee, along with the couple's 2-year-old daughter and his older daughters from his first marriage. Returning home will be difficult, he acknowledges, but he knows his wife will be with him in spirit.

Tennessee is where Joey wants them to be, Rory says in his latest This Life I Live blog post. Joey Feek died on Friday afternoon (March 4) after a long battle with cancer.

It’s where she will be… She’s gonna be in the mint growing beside our back deck, the sweet-corn frozen in our freezer and a million other places that her hand and heart has touched around our little farmhouse and community. Joey will still be with us. Everywhere.

One gets a sense that Rory may leave his blog alone for awhile as he begins to pack to leave Indiana — where the Feeks lived out the final months of Joey’s life — to go to Tennessee. In previous posts the singer said he planned on burying his wife on their family farm, but no memorial or funeral details have been released.

In sharing the news of Joey’s death, Rory only said that she is now in heaven with her beloved brother Justin, “using her pretty voice to sing for her savior.”

Joey Martin Feek was 40 years old.
