Luke Bryan was a successful songwriter before his debut single 'All My Friends Say' became a hit in 2007. The Georgia-born singer wrote 'Good Directions' for Billy Currington as well as tracks for others, but it was clear he had too much talent and charisma to remain in the shadow of Music City's biggest stars. Bryan first picked up the guitar as a teen and had plans to move to Nashville after high school, but the death of his brother left him wanting to stay close to home. Finally, in 2001, he made the move. Bryan's breakout song was 'Country Girl' from 2011. The single and several televised live performances cleared his path to superstardom. Three singles from 'Tailgates and Tanlines' would go Platinum, and in April 2013, he was named the ACM's Entertainer of the Year during a broadcast he co-hosted.
