Thompson Square ‘Kiss’ All the Way to the Top of the Charts

It's been a long time coming for husband-wife duo Thompson Square, but this week they can finally celebrate the accomplishment of having the No. 1 song in the country. 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' tops Billboard's country singles chart, giving the duo their first victory at the No. 1 position.

The song has been a hit with fans and radio since its release last summer. Penned by David Lee Murphy and Jim Collins, 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' recently exceeded 500,000 downloads, giving Keifer and Shawna Thompson their first plaque for their walls. With their new No. 1 single, the duo will have yet another plaque to hang!

"We're just so thankful," Keifer tells Taste of Country. "We're so happy that the fans have gravitated toward the song and us as a live act. We can see it at our shows that people seem to be into what we're doing. I'll be honest with you ... we're freaking out [laughs]!"

Thompson Square's followup to 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' will be 'I Got You,' which is also found on their self-titled debut album on Stoney Creek Records. Look for Thompson Square out on the road with Jason Aldean starting in July.
