Thompson Square Are ‘Smack Dab in the Middle’ of Third Album

Thompson Square are busy new parents! The couple aren't just taking care of baby boy Cooper, they're also working on a new album. They stopped by the Taste of Country Nights studio and chatted with us about their forthcoming music.

Keifer and Shawna Thompson are working on their third studio album, and Shawna says they're "smack dab in the middle" of it. She says they've got about six songs down currently, including their new single, and they're still hard at work.

“‘You Make It Look So Good’ is the new single," Keifer reminds us. "This project is kind of different because we’re actually employing different producers for a variety of reasons. Nathan Chapman produced this new single, and it was interesting working with him because we’ve worked with the same producer on the last two records. It’s been kind of fun to mix it up and see the different techniques."

Chapman encouraged the married duo to do something they've never done on a record before.

"We never sang live in unison at the same time with no headphones on a record before,” Keifer admits before adding, "I think you can hear the comfort level in the vocals … You’re not trying to listen. You’re singing with your eyes.”
