Tim McGraw Settles Slapping Incident With Fan the ‘Old-Fashioned Way’
Tim McGraw received a swarm of media attention for an incident involving a fan who got a little too close at his Atlanta concert recently. Thankfully, the matter has since been settled -- outside of court.
McGraw was performing his hit 'Truck Yeah' during the encore of the concert when he was groped by a fan in the audience. A video clip gave more insight into the incident, which showed the fan grabbing the singer's jeans and ripping them before he slapped her away.
It was a slap heard 'round the world. In a chat with ET Canada, McGraw shed a little light on his perspective, admitting he didn't feel good about his actions.
"Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on," he said. "I think it was an unfortunate situation, I think all the way around. But it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on. It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there’s nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There's nothing to be said about it.”
Then, it was reported that the fan was hiring a lawyer and wanted an apology from the superstar, and potentially some cash. Cops were said to have sided with McGraw in the whole mess, and it seems that the singer and Jesslyn Taylor -- the fan in question -- have made amends.
"The matter between Tim McGraw and Jesslyn Taylor stemming from an Atlanta concert has been mutually resolved the old-fashioned way -- with a simple conversation" McGraw's team tells Country Weekly.
All's well that ends well, right?
