The top songs on this monthly Top 40 playlist continue represent all sub-genres of country music. Males, females, groups and artists from across the country are included in this list of the Top 40 Country Songs for March 2016.

Sam Hunt had last month's No. 1, but he's nowhere to be found on this March list. Instead, Carrie Underwood, Cole Swindell and Maren Morris battle for the top spot, trying to beat hit songs from Zac Brown Band, Randy Houser and Tim McGraw. Thomas Rhett makes a splashy debut, and Kane Brown is back! The "Used to Love You Sober" singer re-enters the chart at No. 28 on the strength of sales.

The list of Top 40 Country Songs of March 2016 is compiled from Billboard chart data and sales figures, in addition to staff opinion and reader feedback.
