Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line were country music's on-screen winners at the 2016 American Music Awards on Sunday night (Nov. 20) but several more won after the broadcast.

Underwood scored two trophies: Favorite Female Artist — Country and Favorite Album — Country for her Storyteller album. The singer was not on hand to accept either, nor was Blake Shelton who won Favorite Male Artist — Country.

McGraw and Florida Georgia Line made the show however. "Humble and Kind" won for Favorite Song — Country, besting FGL's "H.O.L.Y." and Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man." During his speech the singer thanked his family — including daughter Maggie, his date for the evening — and his fans.

“It’s a privilege for us to be a part of your lives and part of your memories," he said.

In winning the Duo award Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley thanked God and called the win humbling. “This is extra special; I swear, this is icing on the cake for us," Kelley said. They would also thank their wives and fans. It was a big year for FGL. In August they released their third studio album Dig Your Roots. All summer they packed arenas and amphitheaters for the Dig Your Roots Tour.
