Watson has had a very impressive career, and he's just getting started. He's been able to play with Willie Nelson (he jokes that that is all three of his career highlights), play iconic venues including the Mother Church and had a No. 1 record in The Underdog.

Watson has played both the Grand Ole Opry and the Mother Church in Nashville, better known as the Ryman. When he played the Ryman, he got to gain a few points with his wife — for a very good (and sweet) reason!

“I scored some serious points when I played the Opry, playing ['That Look'] ‘cause my wife was in the stands," he explains. "In front of all those people I played this song, and I dedicated it to her in front of 4,000 people. That was kind of neat to put her up on that pedestal and let everybody know how much she means to me. This is her song."

Watson's new single is "Getaway Truck" and it's his catchiest song to date. The song is very radio-friendly, and it's likely to bring Watson more mainstream success.

Sam Alex is the host of Taste of Country Nights radio, a syndicated night show which airs on more than 60 Townsquare Media Group stations nationwide.
