Country Artists We’ve Lost in 2012: Andy Williams
'Moon River' singer Andy Williams is another entertainer who didn't have great success on country radio, but was still a strong influence. While he did release a country album called 'You Lay So Easy on My Mind' in 1974, it came 22 years after he'd begun a television and music career.
Williams was a regular on 'The Tonight Show.' Prior to his death in September 2012, the 84-year-old launched and operated the Moon River Theater in Branson, Mo. Williams had been battling bladder cancer since 2011.
